A very sad day

I'm very sad to report that the tests came back positive. This is a very sad day for my family and me, and everyone that Ollie has touched. His long term prognosis is bleak, the vet can't say how long but could be as short as weeks. Our job now is to make his time left with us a happy time before we send him to heaven. One small mercy is he doesn't know his unwell. I'm totally devastated and not sure how I will get through this but it's such a comfort to know I have the support of so many friends. Thanks.

Love and hugs
Maria

  14. Oh no, that is awful! You give that cat a big hug from me! One for you too! I lost my two old cats in December and it just floored me. It is nice to have time to say goodbye and make him feel really special and loved.

  19. I'm so so sorry. It's just the worst thing, especially with him being so young. The same thing happened with me and a kitten we had that had leukaemia. The good thing is that you know what's happening so can make whatever time he has left absolutely fantastic - lots of treats and hugs for him.

    So sorry again. xx

  20. Thanks everyone for all your comforting words and lots of hugs. If I'm honest I'm finding it very hard at the moment and not doing well at all. I'm really going to miss my Ollie but in the mean time I am spoiling him rotten and enjoying the time we have left together.

    Thanks again everyone.
    Lots of Love and hugs

  29. Hi Maria,
I've only just recently come across your blog and I think it is lovely. I'm quite surprised to find so many blogs online about food and domesticity where most of the writers have a pet cat that they love to talk about. I wonder what it is about the two? I guess they go together well in someway.

Anyway I'm really sorry to hear about your poor pusca. We've had many cats and I know how horrible it is. Just this Christmas we lost our little cat Boris, who was a suffering stray who came to stay - you can read about him in my blog, I wrote a tribute. We loved him so so much.

I know I may sound like a crazy cat lady but I do believe cats have a particular thing about them - a kind of energy that makes them very special. Maybe you understand what I mean?

I don't have cats at my house as I am tragically allergic but my mum still keeps them and I endure the ailments. Every time I see a cat when I'm out and about walking I feel happy... anyway just wanted to share these thoughts with you and let you know that I'm thinking of you and your Ollie. xxx
